Freelance translator, (web) writer and PR for AlfaBeta, (Rome). I translate technical texts from English and Spanish into Italian, and I write contents for websites as well as advertising material. I was actively involved in organizing the First Global Agricultural Safety Forum (Rome, 25 September 2008): I researched and wrote materials for Safety Saves, the campaign launched at the forum, I wrote articles and news in Italian and English for the forum blogs, liaised with the speakers, managed the paperwork, and supervised the staff working on the event. I also write contents for Openroma, a visual communication agency which offers technical consultancy and support for the publication of websites, brochures and advertising material.

Internship at AlfaBeta, (Rome). AlfaBeta is a translation and interpreting agency which provides consultancy about web-writing and communication as well as organising events. I translated part of the European Coaching Guide for the EU, revised, edited, proofread, wrote for the web and liaised with clients.

Freelance translator for private clients and for an engineering company involved in European projects. Among the translations: Waste disposal site for non-hazardous waste in Serbia.

Volunteer translator for Greenpeace Italia. I translated part of the brochure The Economics of Nuclear Power as well as legal opinions and juridical documents.

Teacher of Italian at Leeds Languages Ltd (UK). I organised and taught 3 courses for adults as well as one to one classes.

Civil servant at DVLA, Department of Transport (UK). I dealt on the phone and in person with customers with all kinds of problems and requests, handling money, taking payments and dealing with the paperwork. I also processed untaxed vehicles and was responsible for adopting the appropriate procedures to take (tracing owners, fining and in some cases referral to court). An essential part of my job was to keep extremely high levels of customer service at all times, in all situations.
2005
Freelance interpreter for Britannia Interpretation and Translation Services (UK). I interpreted for preliminary meetings between law firms and potential clients, especially in cases of asylum requests.
Since 2004
Volunteer translator for cafebabel.com the first multilingual European current affairs online magazine. The magazine publishes articles on European politics, culture, languages and art, promoting the idea of a common European culture.

Bilingual Hostess and waitress for Blue Arrow (UK). I took part in international sport events like the Champions League Final in Manchester, the horse races in York or the World Cricket Championship in Durham.

Education and qualifications
2008
Master of Arts in Translation and Technical Writing at the University of L’Aquila (Italy). The MA focused on how to write and translate technical texts (technical texts, EU directives, juridical texts, adverts) as well as how to write for the web. The course helped me to develop an excellent eye for details, very good editorial and proofreading skills, and it also improved my knowledge of a wide range of computer programmes.

Four-year Degree in Modern Languages – I graduated with honours at the University of L’Aquila (Italy). Between 2002 and 2004 I studied at the University of Leeds (UK) as an exchange student.
